Friends, Ferris Bueller, or Finding Work

Where am I supposed to be?
This is one of the major questions of life or rather sometimes I think the question is rephrased 'Where am I supposed to end up?'. I will be exploring this question about where I want to end up in its fullness on this road trip that I taking with my friends in the fall. That way I can accept this time right now as a time to wait and to rest. Sometimes I think we spend so much of our time in planning for the future (with who we want to be) that we miss the right now (the present) altogether, although if we really plug in to the right now there are probably many lessons to be learned which can help us for the future. Which makes me wonder if we need to refresh our minds daily with the Ferris Bueller mantra: 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.'
I don't want us to miss it. I want to be here with you in the right now. Tomorrow will meet us there, but lets visit with today while can.
Tonight I was reminded of great friendship. I grabbed a bite to eat at the Spectrum with Tony and Fouad (photo of us from a fishing trip) who I have known since the 7th grade. We ate good food and laughed ourselves silly over nothing in particular. It was great to just be there.
After an entertaining dinner, I enjoyed a chill conversation with the friend that I spend most of my time with each week, Courtney. We talked about intricacies of Man vs. Wild as compared with Survivorman (which by way are both awesome shows about how to survive out in the wilderness for days on end by yourself, you should watch and then go camping with me) she is so cool and reminds me what true friendship is all about.
Thankfully yours,
-Mike Morabito

Mike, I like this post a lot. I found it very refreshing; it's so good for me to stop going crazy about the future and love the right now... at least be in it. I love those pictures of you guys from the fishing trip-- men are really cool. Especially you Bear from Man vs. Wild. Okay and AJ. (Assuming he didn't actually shoot himself)
Keep it up.
C
